[mr_gaeta]

This is one of those days where everything seems to go wrong.

First, Gaeta tripped getting out of bed and slammed his bad knee into the floor. Then he burned breakfast. Then he burned lunch. Down in the Milliways kitchen, half his equipment had gotten swallowed by a miniature vortex overnight (as evidenced by the sorry I opened a tiny vortex last night! note somebody left on the counter), and really, by the end of it, all he wanted to do was get room service and watch trashy movies until Louis got home.

Which, of course, means that as he's easing his way out from behind the bar, he knocks his already-tender knee against a barstool.

"Ow, frak -- !"

"I'm, uh...yeah, I'm good," says Gaeta as the last of the steam dissipates. He glances to Louis -- now that he can actually see him. "You?"

[faithful_lt]

"I feel fine," Hoshi says.

[aspenmuses]

"I recommend rest as well," Baymax tells him. "So that you may avoid developing further exacerbation of your illness. Do not worry, I will be monitoring your progression."

[mr_gaeta]

"...Monitoring how?"

Some of the wariness returns.

"Like the, ah, the scanning you were doing before?"

[aspenmuses]

"I have already scanned you both," Baymax says. "I can compare any change in your vitals to your previous readings so that I can offer assistance."

[mr_gaeta]

"Okay." Still eyeing Baymax. "Louis...doesn't live at the bar, though."

He's having a vision of Baymax waddling after Louis through Galactica's halls, like some cheerful oversized penguin.

[aspenmuses]

"That is no problem," Baymax assures him.

"I can fly. Flying is beneficial to health."

[faithful_lt]

"It is?"

[aspenmuses]

"Hiro said so, and his contentment increased, so I have added it to my treatment matrix."

[mr_gaeta]

"That's good, but, I mean -- "

He studies Baymax for a whole different reason now.

"You know where you are right now, right? And how it functions?"

[aspenmuses]

"I am at Milliways, the Bar at the End of the Universe. It is a convenient point to encounter and assist many beings from all different worlds, when I am not assisting Hiro and his friends in protecting San Franstokyo," Baymax tells them.

"I am also adding to my medical databases while I am here."

[faithful_lt]

Hoshi blinks.

"How so?"

[mr_gaeta]

Gaeta doesn't say anything, but his expression echoes Louis' question.

[aspenmuses]

"Through scanning and information gathering. There are certain anomalies that I have yet to figure out. For example--"

He reaches out with one hand and pats Gaeta on the shoulder.

"You have a resonance about you that Louis does not. It is very perplexing but does not appear to be harmful in any sense."

[mr_gaeta]

"...Oh." A little quieter, as Gaeta glances from Baymax to Louis and back. "What kind of resonance? Um, what does it look like?"

He has a few ideas, but...it might be better to try and confirm them first.

[aspenmuses]

"It detects as a low-level electromagnetic energy," Baymax says. "Such energies can occasionally be therapeutic."

(Hoshi looks back and forth between them, but stays silent.)

[mr_gaeta]

"That's weird," he mutters. "Maybe it's because I'm Bound? Or..."

He trails off before supplying the other, more obvious answer.

[faithful_lt]

"... or dead," Hoshi says for him, very quietly.

[aspenmuses]

"That does not make sense. All of Felix's vitals are in normal ranges; he is in very good health," Baymax tells Hoshi, and then spreads his arms.

"But I detect increasing stress hormones and an elevated heart rate. It is okay."

He moves in to hug Hoshi.

"There, there." A beat. "Felix, you can hug him too. I think he might find it comforting."

[mr_gaeta]

Gaeta presses his lips together for a beat, struggling between apology and amusement.

"I think so, too," he says at last, and squeezes next to Louis -- trickier, now, considering the giant inflatable arms wrapped around him -- to join in the group hug.

[aspenmuses]

Baymax reaches out with one arm and enfolds Felix, drawing him closer in.

"I was designed to be squishy and approachable," he points out.




Hoshi begins to laugh.

[mr_gaeta]

So does Gaeta.

"Oh my gods," he manages, muffled by both the laughter and Baymax.

[aspenmuses]

"Laughter is also healthy," Baymax agrees, and squeezes them both again before releasing them.

"Are you feeling better now?"

[mr_gaeta]

"I think I am," says Gaeta. Another glance to Louis: "How about you?"

[faithful_lt]

"Definitely," he agrees. "Uh, thanks, Baymax."
